Q @ 73 superbug

:sandrine
Hope someone can help us......
I have a young friend that bought a 73
Superbug. As it did not come with a VW
front bonnet badge, she had to buy one.
They are no holes or anything to put it on.
What is the best way to put this on, as
like Robbo & his VW badge, she also doesn't want it stolen, but put on the best way possible without doing damage to her car.
Thankx

Judy

I take it 73 means 1303 curved screen

73's did not come with the badge on the hood/bonnet

If she buys one she will have to drill holes in the bonnent. This "may" clash with the aluminium strip.
If she does still want it on there are 3 pegs on the badge. She just needs to bet the best fitting/tightest "clip" she can and push them on real hard so as there is no movement in the badge.
The clip i am talking about is a rectangular piece of spring steel with a hole in the centre and a couple of slots. IF the steel is springy it holds the badge nice and tight and there is no room to get e screwdriver under to pop it off.
Over time them clip looses its tension/ gets nocked etc etc and once loose is easy to pull the badge from the top.

It is the same thing that holds the scipt on the engine lid

Hi

The factory used blind plastic plugs, you just need to drill the correct size hole and push the plugs into the bonnet.
