Catalytic Convertor
Spoke with an engineer today. He told me to use the Subaru cat,or I will have to go for an emmissions test.I have an after market hi-flow cat to suit
my exhaust.Does this mean I use Subi cat to get the certificate, then swap over,or are you guys just using the Subaru cat? What is everyone doing to
over-come emmission testing?
Thanx

Any cat should be fine, as long as it's a proper catalytic converter. They all do the same thing. You don't need to do an emissions test just
because you use a non-subaru cat, that's just crazy talk.

Where abouts are you?
I am a mechanical engineer. I can tell you that whether you use a subaru catalytic convertor, or another brand catalytic convertor, there should be
absolutely no effect on the emissions. That's as stupid as saying a Ryco air filter will cause more emissions than a Subaru air filter.

Engineer sounds like he;s just being a prick for the sake of it
a cat is a cat, they all do the same thing, doesnt matter who made it.
Ive got an aftermarket hi-flow on mine and all my engineer was worried was noise level no emissions testing or anything
