1968> on speedo [Australian sold beetles] had the fuel gauge inside the speedo...

Imported speedos from standard model beetles [not deluxe]
are in KMH and no fuel gauge....

I bought one a few years ago... forgot about the fuel gauge..
was out of a 1968 German standard beetle
My Son has it in His 1955 Beetle...

I have found a 60's Style speedo with Fuel Gauge , i have Fully rebuilt this and Reset to 00000 Miles but i broke the 30 year old brittle needle , im thinking i need to get repros made up. i need the speedo for the needle so speedo dosent matter to much.

I thought You were pulling them apart Dylan.... lol

My Son Scott has heaps of them...
lots of carbon fibre ones... lol

maybe a chromed one would be good... lol
have some chromed vinyl... lol

I also broke off a needle.... so, I don't touch the needles now

You really need a broken speedo with a needle...lol
as a speedo with no needle isn't much good...lol

lol

LEE

PS: the later needles are metal I think... the white needles.?

All the 12volt bug ones were plastic
Trick to getting them off without breaking them is to use a fork

I probably have 2 or 3 1968 type speedos in various degrees of disassembly. They are yours for the price of postage if they are of any use to you.

Thanks People for offers of the speedos , What they say "one mans trash is anothers tresure" and i try make use out of broken or old vw parts instead of throwing them away. I wont even scrap a vw i just cant do it cause you can always do something else with it untill its gone.

So any unwanted old speedos , i would love em.
