Arty,
Looks super!!! I know its been a "long row to hoe", as we say in The States, but your efforts show.
I bet you are the only first owner that has ever restored a CB he bought new. That is an amazing statistic if true.
You're doing a great job. Looks like you've really got some momentum now. Keep up the good work!
We all love pics.....just like when Bill was still with us, so keep on snapping and posting them.
Kudos, Sir!

Regards,
Steve

p.s. Love your rotisserie fixture!

Now for the floor pan ect, Does anyone know the exact colour grey the floor was painted also somewhere on this forum the bumper bar colour was discussed but mine was a light cream or beige I have still some on the bumper but the local paint shop couldn't get an exact match, and for anyone who is interested I kicked the motor over last week after sitting in the shed for 19 years ,just cleaned the carby and the plugs and it purred like a kitten it has only done about 5000 km since a full recon and my mechanic mate said you wont need to touch it so at the moment I am having the brakes completely redone and getting the floor pan ect sand blasted I am not sure at this stage weather to get the tin ware blasted or get new tin ware ?

Arty,
Well, I think if you could get the hang of storing pics and posting from Photobucket in a step by step fashion, you'd be OK. Its really not that hard at all. If you could get someone to show you (grandson or anyone who knows what they are doing) in a measured, step by step fashion, writing the steps down if necessary, I think you could get the hang of Photobucket.

The beauty of it is once you get pics posted there, all you have to do is copy and paste the image tag and take it to wherever you are posting, and bingo, it gets posted. I belong to some other forums which won't let you post pics directly to their threads from your own own computer files. Its a bit of a pain to have to do that, but I guess its all about saving bandwidth on the servers for these forums (let the data fill up someone else's server). Some forums have a annual "supporter status" thing for a modest fee which allows a user many more options and more bandwidth to post to thread. Its worth it IMO, to have that freedom.
I think AVD is honestly behind the times a little using this format, but I'm sure it really all boils down to economics.

Try reviewing these Photobucket instructional videos and see if the process becomes any easier or clearer.

You can always email me pics stored on your 'puter, if you'd like. But I'm sure all the guys here would like to see them also.....its your call and choice. If we could just get you sorted out on the Photobucket thing.......http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/uploads/monthly_2016_11/umm.gif.5898b698878a76bdb79caac622248f58.gif

Hope this helps.

Arty,
First off....thank you for posting the pics. I found them interesting and very detailed. Great stuff involving a wide variety of parts and assemblies on which you have been working. I'm sure everyone here at the forum appreciates seeing them as well.

Second, I have to compliment you on the outstanding quality of your work. One doesn't have to look far to see the love and care that is going into this restoration. Amazing stuff. Your CB will be an eye popping piece of work and art (no pun intended) when you finish. I think we all now realize and understand better what you have done, how long its taken to accomplish, and that you are now well along the path to finishing. Looks to me you have most of the major stuff done. Now the fun is just really beginning. You are really building value back into this very rare vehicle......big time! You are "growing" this asset for you and your family. It will be a very valuable vehicle when you are finished.

Now some observations on your pics. Please understand my intent is not to be critical, but to be helpful and maybe allow you to better understand some problems you may be having with Photobucket:

I note this thread, which you authored, has many interesting pics in it. The first batch of pics on page 1 are small, or what are generally called "thumbnails".
These are shown to be 160 x 120 pixels or a 4 to 3 ratio which is very common for pics, particularly digital camera acquired images. They are generally between 5 KB and 8 KB in size which is very "thrifty" resource wise.
The negative thing about this size is that although they take up minimal bandwidth and resources, their sheer small size makes it very difficult to view all the rich detail which could be displayed in a larger picture format......say 640 x 480 (same size ratio).

Later in the thread on page 2, you posted larger pics, which when I review their size in the page info drop down menu, are revealed to be varied dimensions and sizes, but to the average reader are clearly larger and easier to view more detail than your page 1 thumbnails. A lot of these pics are the 640 x 480 dimensions and are naturally higher in data size (KB).

Then in your last post January 8th, 2017, your pics return to the small thumbnail dimensional size of 160 x 120. They are clearly excellent pics, but because of their tiny size the reader/viewer is somewhat slighted to their full beauty and content.
So it appears to me there could be several possible things going on that result in this picture displaying variation.
1. When you are going to Photobucket to choose pics to post, you are choosing to display pics in the thumbnail size (either by accident or purposely) rather than a larger size option, likely the resolution the pic was taken in originally.
2. You are either accidentally or purposely changing your camera picture resolutions from time to time........so that means one time maybe you take a batch in 160 x 120, and then changing to 640 x 480, 480 x 360 or another size.
3. Photobucket may have placed restrictions on your account because of the total size of your photo library there. Maybe you have exceeded their limit for a free account and thus they are only allowing you to display pics in the smallest resolutions possible to minimize bandwidth and server space and to bring you back within their file size limitations.

In looking at your page info for a photo, when I reviewed this last batch of pics this notice came in the menu, so I suspect you have some file size problems with Photobucket. Not knowing how much of a camera bug you may or may not be, I can only speculate about this. But if you store hundreds and hundreds of pics of large data size there, this could be part of the problem. Here's the message I viewed in a typical photo info drop down menu.
Have you noted this anytime you use Photobucket, or have you received an email notification about exceeding account file size?

http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff127/ztnoo/account%20restricted%20Photobucket.jpg

It appears that even though your last batch of pics view as thumbnails (160 x 120) in the post, when you click on a individual photo it opens a Photobucket page in which the picture is being displayed larger to the viewer and has dimensions of 480 x 360.

Example of size differentials of the same photo:

160 x 120
http://i793.photobucket.com/albums/yy212/Ckoke38/th_DSCF2600.jpg

480 x 360
http://i793.photobucket.com/albums/yy212/Ckoke38/DSCF2600.jpg

Hope all this helps, if even a little.
Regards,
Steve

Arty et al,
Glad to help.
Anytime you are having problems posting pics, you are welcome to email them to me.
I'll save them to file here on my PC, and then use them as an attachment in a thread post.
That's what I did with your pic.
I saved it to file from the FB CB page, and then used it as an attachment in my previous post.
You can use the email system within the forum here, or send them to me to my personal email account directly which is posted below.
sbk@indy.rr.com
Hope this helps!
I think everyone here enjoys seeing pics of each others CBs, especially when restorations are being done.

So, I'd be happy to help facilitate that for any AVD forum member interested in CBs
Photobucket really screwed free online picture hosting when they started charging an annual fee for the privilege of using them last year.
Lots of pics are now missing online, particular on forums, all over the world.

btw, what is a bull bar???

Regards,
Steve

Thanks Steve, I think. I still have the same old problem I've always had. For some reason I can't see the pictures in some posts. Everyone else can so nobody believes me. Some have appeared in a year or two. Some are no problem. If I'm not logged in I can see there's a picture there but logged in nothing. Some posts I can't attach a picture no matter what. Others are OK. I've given up pretty much.😆

Tony,
The issues you describe having to do with photos may be do to several factors which may be largely out of your control. Depending of the age of the computer you are using, the operating system which is installed, and software glitches which can occur if not updated frequently, could be partial causes to your erratic ability or inability to view and also to upload pics. If you are using a 10, 12, 15 year old computer with an small hard drive and an outdated operating system, it just may not be up to handling the requirements of today's needs online.
For instance, if your computer is still using the Windows XP version which I believe was one of Microsoft's better operating systems, but is no longer supported, its possible its having troubles processing pics, and it may be running excessively slow. Also your hard drive storage and your computer memory may be maxed out or near its limits.

Additionally I learned from Arty about troubles he was having with pictures in the forum. He happened to mention he used a photo storage program called Picasa, which I had never heard of. When I goggled around, this is what I discovered which may be the root cause of his pictures handling problems. I'm unsure of what you are using for a photo storage and editing program, but if you too are using Picasa, this also could be contributing to your problems along with the other things mentioned above. What follows is what I posted in a private email exchange between Arty and me. Knowing some of this, may be beneficial to you as well.

"Picasa was something I had no familiarity with and therefore I Googled the word to learn about it. https://www.google.com/search?q=Picasa&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=f...

If you are having problem with managing your pictures, its because Picasa has essentially been discontinued. That has been in effect for nearly two years now, so if you've been pulling your hair out trying to figure out what in the hell was going on with all your pics and using them to post into a forum, email, or something else, this likely explains the reason. There probably was a notice sent to you or an announcement made along the way that you might have overlooked or not seen. All these providers of electronic services just can't resist the temptation to "improve" or "update" a program we become familiar with using. It has happened to me, and frankly in American English, it "really burns my ass" to think about it!

"On February 12, 2016, Google announced it was discontinuing support for Picasa Desktop and Web Albums, effective March 15, 2016, and focusing on the cloud-based Google Photos as its successor.
Google stated that the primary reason for retiring Picasa was that it wanted to focus its efforts "entirely on a single photos service" the cross-platform, web-based Google Photos. While support for the desktop version of Picasa is ending, Google has stated that users who have downloaded the software, or who choose to download it prior to the March 15th deadline will still be able to use its functionality, albeit with no support from Google." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Picasa

Moving on from Picasa:
Where can I find my photos? If you have photos or videos in a Picasa Web Album, the easiest way to still access, modify and share most of that content is to log in to Google Photos. Your photos and videos will already be there.

What's happening to Picasa & Picasa Web Albums?:

I hope all this makes sense to you and may be of some help to you dealing with pics and tracing down potential problems. The CB Facebook site ( https://www.facebook.com/groups/302252683315626/  ) is a great place for pics of cars and ongoing restorations, but if you aren't a FB user or lover, then that's not an option.
Let us all know if you finally put your finger on your problem(s). Maybe calling in someone else who has a little more "techie" expertise at these sorts of issues might be beneficial as well.

Regards,
Steve (The Yank Across the Big Pond)
