wheel fitment 65 beetle

hey guys im currently getting the metal work done on my 65 sunroof, and im thinking about things a bit further down the line like..

Colour
Interior
suspension
ect ect

I have alot of mates in the sa drift scene who i help with paintin cars suspension work engine conversions ect.

and i want to get away from the stock look or selection of vw wheels (not saying they`r not cool) but we have fitted some stupid size & offset wheels to cars and im wanting to go down the same track.

i think with a 6 inch narrowed beam i can easily fit 17x9+15 size wheels allround under stock fenders with 225 45 r 17 tyres, yes they will be stretched but this is the "street" look im going for.

The car will be driven only on weekends not as a daily with these wheels.

Tell me what you think.

Matt

Also these are the wheel choices im looking at....

Here's a pic of my car with a 8.5" x 17", ET 55mm with a 245/45 under the standard guard, it had about 3mm clearence to the spring plate but would hit the body mount under the rear guard when the suspension moves, good luck with the front as the tyre will hit the floor pan and the kick panel when you narrow the beam 6".
