Country buggy reduction boxes

Hi

Did Country Buggies use the small 36 mm axle nut like earlier split Kombies or did they use larger nut as used on the later Kombis?

Did the reduction boxes used on Country Buggies use the same ratio gear sets as Kombis?

The drive gear for both the 1200cc and 1300cc was 4.375:1 and the reduction gear 1.26:1 which I understand are standard Kombi parts #s as well at the housings.

Hi Bill

I have some bits laying around from 1200 style reduction boxes, I'm going to put them on eBay and didn't want to say that they were suitable form a country buggy if they weren't.

From what I understand the 36 hp and 1200 Kombis used the 36 mm axle nut like a Beetle, then when they went to the 1500 motor they used the bigger axle nut.

Steve
