Couple Questions re starter on '76 bay

Sorry if this has been dealt with before, just wondering a few things about the starter on the 2L aircooled '76 Kombi.

1) Can the starter from a Caravelle be used? e.g.

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/New-Volkswagen-Transporter-Caravelle-Starter-motor-/28...

This one has a lot of part numbers, not exactly sure which one the (Bosche) starter on my kombi is.

2) I saw an ad for a 'subaru starter to kombi bellhousing adaptor' ( http://www.crankykits.com.au/ck001.html  ) does this mean a (much more modern) subaru starter can be used on a kombi without modification (besides the adapter plate) to either?

3) Anyone know anywhere around North West Vic that I might get a cheapish stock starter, or what a reasonable price for one is?

Thanks for your help!

Oh, and one more Q - can a 1600 starter be used on a 2L?
