Took No.8 for a run on sunday at the driver training centre at logic centre barnawartha. Had a blast! Have some footage that ill post up soon. 7th outright, best lap time 58.58. Once the tyres get up to temp they are awesome, but you have to drive it with the throttle!

Hi Fabo the car is basically the same as greg had it, all i have done is a new seat and steering wheel that fits me! and i moved the battery and extinguisher inside and replaced the fuel tank with a fuel cell to move a bit more weight onto the passenger side front wheel, I did the corner weights and it was pretty light on the passenger side front.

Yes you are right! I could shave a few kilos off the drivers side but that means no more rib eyes! That aint going to happen! By relocating the battery and fuel tank we shifted 30kgs to the passenger side, got a few more little tweaks to do! Then some full slicks are in its future! Was thinking of putting the oil filter up front too, What do you reckon Greg?

You've got the ball now, Mac...nun with it !

I like your "little tweaks" approach. :tu: Moving the filter up front was on my list. That's where I had it in 1963, on the 'old' No.8. [behind the cooler].

Glad your having a blast Mac,shame u weren't at valla, would of loved to say bday..
I did same as what your doing with my old red 64,try and shift weight to the left to compensate for us fatties...it's probably impossible to get a beam front end balanced right.....what was the weight of the car??
I weighed my blue one I built minus gearbox and engine and came in at I think 490kg.its single skin etc....so with my bike engine transplant I hope it will be around 650kg...or less, hoping!

Whats the engine specs?
Lsd?
Sump?

Cheers dude

The Murray is still in flood but around Wilby should not be too bad. North of here is copping it now! It has been a damp winter! Supposed to get a bit of rain tonight but not much hopefully!

Righto! Had 4 sessions at Wilby on Sunday. Not as many cars out there this time around, Rained early morning but cleared up just in time. First session was all good trying to get some heat into the tyres, checked the tyre pressure and bumped them up a bit for the next blat! Prob should have left them there as when i came in next they were at 35psi. Dropped them back down. Next session was great, getting out there behind a mate in a Silvia with an LS, big brakes and huge semi slicks, we were pretty much on par. I just pipped him! Tyres were on song by now, everything was feeling great, the silvia was doing a bit of show pony stuff coming onto the straight, so I thought I would give it a bit too! I can tell you No8 is not a great drift car but it was fun to be side by side giving it heaps! A long lunch let everything cool down and I think it was a bit too cool as the 4th session I was not able to better my times. Came 4th outright. Pretty chuffed!
