Resto, that gear lever knob would be kicking around somewhere in my shed...I never chuck anything away. :smirk:

You can have it if you want to find it. [Unless Mac needs it].

Thanks,i would love to look around in your shed for it.I would also love a replica of number 8 beetle.Totally trick.Lots of fun you guys have been having,Fantastic work .Can you remember what the nob came off ?.Also is thet a beele shifter heated and rebent back more ?.Photos look like its had been bent for comfort a few times.I want to make one the same, seems like when in 3rd reaching for second mid corner change down will fall to hand nicer.i particularly like the gear knob ive been asking about.Anyway thankyou ,best beetle on here number 8.10/10

You are correct, the gear lever [a shifter is an adjustable spanner ] was bent to make it easier to reach while driving with a harness on.

I found the knob in question, and if you PM your address...and promise to always spell KNOB properly...I will post it to you.

Took No8 out for the last event for the year at logic at Barnawartha. Was pretty warm so I was a little fixated on the gauges keeping an eye on things! First session i scrubbed in the new rears all was going good with a time close to my PB for the track, did about 6 laps and the oil temps were getting a bit high so wheeled her in. Checked the tyres and all was good! Second session decided to get into it straight away and just wring its neck until the temp beat me. Had a blast keeping up with a well set up Evo2, He could just get away down the straights but under brakes and corner speed No8 had him covered. I thought it felt real good and was confident that I would have beat my PB but the transponder was not working!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ah well! Temps were pretty high now and thoughts of packing it in and heading to the pub was looking like an option. However I decided to give her one more run. The track was very warm and i could not better my PB, did improve but not by much. Now it was just plain HOT! Packed her up and went to the pub for some heavy drinking! Have a great photo that my sister in law took with both inside wheels off the track, Did not hit any thing to get her up there just pure grip! https://www.facebook.com/mac.taylor.1238/posts/1276018185790757?notif_t=like&...

Took No8 out for the first event of the new year, was great too be back in the seat. Bit of a missfire up in the revs must fix that for the next round! first session took it easy just making sure all was well, other than the missfire all felt good! Checked the tyres needed a few # more. Back out and into it! On turn four got a little loose and could not wind in enough oppy! spun on a top! All was well did not hit anythingl! Few more laps then back into the pits. PB!!!!!! Only by a tenth but happy with that. Next session the temperature was getting pretty high so did not improve any! Had a blast! Some of the boys in the club have spent up big during summer and have really raised the bar! Looks like full slicks and a few more herbs are just around the corner!

Now you've found the limit, you know where it is...so keep just a whisker under it - it's that easy.

Yeah been trying pretty hard! Gotta change a few suspension settings to counter my fat arse! Needs a bit more camber drivers front! Maybe a degree, and then maybe a bit more spring in the rear! I did find some footage of you at SMSP in front of a Escort? You seem too have the same weird slip and grab mid corner problem I have encountered! Ill try and find it again!
