birthday gift ideas for VW fans
Hey everyone,
I need help! My boyfriend is a mad vw fanatic and every year I'm at a loss as to what to get him for his birthday. He sometimes gives me a list of
parts, but that never seems to work out - either I dont understand what hes talking about or cant find it, and I dont want to just give him cash.
But this year I want to get him something he'll love, and something that I can get without asking him obvious questions (I want it to be a surprise).
Budget would be a max of $500.
I also dont want to give too much info away because he's also on this forum and he might figure out its me, so I cant answer too many questions about
his bug. (Also I dont know a lot of the answers).
Any ideas/advice would be greatly appreciated!!

On top of these other ideas ...
Why don't you take a photo of his car to an artist and have them make a large painting of it for him. Present it to him framed.
Good luck.

Before buying any gift for a male VW enthusiast ask 3 questions:
Will it help look after his VW?
Will it make his VW go faster/look better ?
Is it a Porsche?
If you cant answer yes to any of these questions, you are better of just giving him his present in bed.
Cheers

This website has a heap of stuff on it
http://www.dubmonkeysworld.com/products.asp?cat=61
You could also look into an R/C version of his pride an joy. Ebay has them all the time.
Once you have an actual classic VW, it is a slippery slope into collecting toys of VWs, Games of VWs, magazines, books, posters, clothing etc.
I've been sliding down it for months now. I don't care where it leads, I'm just enjoying the ride!

You could get him a custom picture. I got one for my last birthday that came from this guy, http://www.caricatures.com.au/.
Or the cake like the one I got.

I got very disappointed yesterday. The girl who helped me move my '56 bought me a 1:37 scale '67 model and said they all look the same. To be honest
I would have preferred a 1:1 scale GTI. Anything less was probably not going to cut it.
