Why confuse things? Everyone knows people are refering to double joint when they say IRS, even though you may be technically correct.

No they don't, that's the whole point.
There are newbies on here all the time who are unfamiliar with the 'in' VW terms. It's calling double-joint 'IRS' that is confusing things, not
the other way around. Volkswagen didn't use the term, so neither should we.
Forget IRS. Swing axle or double joint - how hard is that?

Give Nick at Volksparts a call and he'll help you any way he can. You can buy anything from shells to complete cars, it all depends on what he has
at the time. I bought my current daily driver from him as a shell and built it up there as a registerable car. He is busy but will accomodate you
where he can, get an idea of what you want and call him.
