Warwick prep. Dyno results
I have been way too busy to finish my new drag car and have had to go to plan B , and modify my circut car for the drags . I have removed the engine
and transmission from the car and replaced it with a purpose built deal .
The engine I have just assembled from all of the parts laying around here has just returned from a dyno session where it produced 191 HP and 288
ft/lb's of torque . These figures were at the wheels and were made with a full cooling and charging system operating with a full sized pulley . The
engine is built on a new Magnesuim case , 82mm Demello full circle wedgemated crank , 5.4" h beam rods , AA 94mm Racing pistons , Pauter cam similar
to an FK 89 , a set of Welded and ported Comp Eliminator heads with 46 x 38 stainless valves and 12.8 comp . I was using the Sunoco supreme nos as the
fuel and changed to BP 98 and picked up more power . The exhaust is a 1 7/8 header with a stinger and with the muffler the engine made 188 HP .
The transmission is built on a Rhino case , a full set of Albins gears and a locked diff . I am using the same 930 cv set up that was on the car . I
am doing some maintance on the car and it will be in the trailer and ready by Wednesday , I will see you on the north side of the border , ROD.
More boost + More fuel = More power

Gracey , I am using a new set of the Empi 51mm carbs . I tried several different size venturies and ended up with a set of 45mm that seem to be a
compromise between drivability and high revs . The intake maiifold is an original Superflow component , welded and matched to the head , ROD.

Not sure if the owners want details posted but all the other cars made good results, minor jetting and timing changes picking up good power in some
instances. No breakages either!

Went along to see if the old type4 made some more power.
engine is a tired 2ltr ex injected bottom end so has hydraulic lifters .
smallest heads as in port / valve for type4 just mild port job to blend exh ports
40mm italian webers with update kit
dis ix ignition
custom 1 5/8 tuned length extracters and modified muffler
last time out it made 55hp with 122 ftlbs but heads had blown hedgaskets burnt exh valves and cracked heads
this time with newer heads that seal
65.7 hp and 136ftlbs so happy that the shagged motor can still make good power for what it is
motor is in a 62 split panel with upright kit

Gracey , We were tuning from 70 to 160 km/h , and the engine was on 191 when we finished the run . This was at 7080 rpm's and I think there is more
power available . The max torque of 288 was at 5750 rpm and didn't drop off much at 7080 . The engine will be good for 8500 rpm and I don't know
where the max. power will be . I am changing wheels now to allow me to use a treaded slick to hold the power , ROD.

Shouldn't you have done full power runs to find out where the max power is Rod?? Seems kinda fruitless to only dyno to 7k when the thing will
possibly run to 8500?? Peak power might only be at 8000 but I guess you won't find that out unless you do full power runs to the limiter. Hopefully
you have enough fuel in the thing so it doesn't run real lean in that last 1500rpm or so or I might have to bring a mop and bucket for the clean up
LOL
