Ben, I bought a set of these off the Melbourne importer but I don't think he is getting them in anymore.. I will dig out his details.. Given the exchange rate, have you thought of bringing a set in from LA?
They are a beautiful rim but tricky on standard beam and swing axle beetle..
I'll get back to you with details

Thanks a heap Rob,

Haven't thought about import yet, looking at local sales at the moment.

Front end is airbagged on my bug, so shouldn't be a problem, its fairly narrow.

cheers

When you say problem I assume you mean clearance wise? I've got a standard 59" Beetle and wanted to fit a set to mine also in Wide 5, will they not fit easily?

hi guys, have done a little searching. GR Wheels in america do them for about $1300 delivered. And also have matt black and grey ( low pressure cast ) for $1100 delivered.

Theres also a guy who contacted me selling a set with decent tyres for $2500 here in sydney.

Pashn8 - i'd assume you'd need a narrowed beam as these are 7" Wide. I had a standard beam with dropped spindles ( add 1.5" ) and then 5.5" mangels on the front.. they poked out beyond the guard & woulda ripped my guards off on speed humps.

Anyone after contact info for the wheels give me a call or PM

Thanks mate :)

Has anyone sourced a decently priced supplier in Australia for these as yet, or any of the 17" wide 5 replica wheels?

and another 2500 with tyres.
if you're after his details let me know. OR if interested in importing a set i might be doing so in the next few weeks.

Hey mate!

$2100 no tyres?? unless i'm mistaken you can land them from GR Wheels for around $1300AUS 'ish??

You can also land a set of JBW Radars from Midland Wheels for around $1k AUS.

Definitely will be purchasing a set within the next few weeks, so happy to co-ordinate if we can save on shipping together.
Correct me if i'm wrong?

Yep. That is very very correct.

GR was where i was getting the quote from.
1275US delivered.

The few in aus are crazily priced. but i do guess they are sought after!

Keep in touch, i will contact Juan from GR again, see if he can do a good deal on 2 sets. Are you after black with polished face? or grey or what?

Cheers

Ese, Juan said they would do one set for $1250AUS for one set. Are you in Melbourne? I'm definitely going to purchase a set shortly, so two sets might make it cheaper?

Zues, from what I have sent there are two distinct options for Radar style wheels in 17".

http://www.grwheels.com/index%20ENG.htm  - Escra Radars
http://www.midlandwheels.com/Shop/C-3352-7-x-17.html  - Midland Wheels JBW Radars.

The Midland rims will land in Aust cheaper, but i'm not sure how the quality is? I'm also not sure about the raised ridge in each spoke of the Midland Radars. I think I prefer the flat face of the Escra wheels.

From what i've seen they seem better

hi, I've spoken to Juan again, Wheels are in stock ready to go. No discounts on multiple purchases. 1245 a set and thats it. No import duties, said he posts many to aus and has never had a tax issue, he can write value at sub 1k to get around this.
