This guy thinks this is an Oval ???

People, I may be a little blurry eyed at the moment but is this in no way a VW oval (except for rear window).

http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/private/details.aspx?R=9332034&__Qpb=true&Cr=7&__Ns=pCar_LastModifiedDate_DateTime|1 &keywords=&__N=1216%201246%201247%201252%201282%204294962746%204294961272&SearchAction=N&silo=1011&__No=15&seot=1&tsrc=all carhome&__Nne=15&trecs=362&__sid=1255B4D57957

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Kev

I have a roll of masking tape. I'm just on my way outside to make a split window.

Could be a 1968 body with a 1976 dash???

or a 1976 body with the flow thru air vents removed??

1972 engine case...

Paint doesn't look too good??

It's a real bitsa, I can spot so many parts from other cars on it but the actual shell itself started life as a 76 bug and judging by the rear camber or lack of its sitting on an IRS pan so probably the original pan as well

Would have looked better if the guy just glorified it for what it is....

No one likes a wanna be...

If he retrofitted a w decklid and eary front guards though, i rekon it could look schweet.

Update- Check the add out now after I sent him a question. He has changed it to read that it is an oval body fitted to later pan. This guy has no idea, I didn't know ovals came out with the external fuel flap on the front guard :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Kev

P.S. Maybe he needs some more involvement from the VW community to educate him a little (me bad :smirk:

sigh! Although it seems to poor fella doesn't know what hes doing, if a rookie who is just getting into the scene gets full excited thinkin it a tru blue oval, they will be disappointed when they find out after the purchase.

you'd feel ripped off.
