Intermitant wipers for 77 Kombi

Has anyone installed a switch for intermitant operation of the windscreen wipers on late Kombi.

Yep installed them on earlier ones as well. You have to get the stock plug in module for your fuse box as it should be wired up.

Also there is usually a plastic tabe on the wiper stalk that has to be broken off in order that the wiper arm can be pulled back to the inter mitant position.

Have a look at your fuse box first to see if the wiring has been installed, if not you might have to seek help of an auto electrician

Cool thanks Dave!
the vision through the windscreen in the rain is quite good even without the wipers on, unless it is really teeming down, sometimes it is overkill to have the wipers on, even on the slow position, an intermitant selection is all that is required, and it is a lot less load on the motor!

Hi

I fitted them to mine using a wiring diagram from Bently Kombi manual, you will need to find a relay pn# 111 955 531, they were used in 1976 Golf GLs, they are no longer availble. Below is a wiring diagram I did for Beetles but all the terminal numbers are the same.

Robo

Yeah thats the one Steve gave it to me so i could fit the wipers to my Smoothieeee,

Take a trip to you local wreckers and see if you can find a module from a series one Golf or some times there in the later
Kombis probally Microbusses

Did you have alook at your wiper arm switch to see if the plastic lug is there.

You might have to remove the steering wheel to get access to the area properly.

See if you have a module like this one in the middle of fuse box.
