Warwick 2010

Hey guys,
good to hear you all had a great time even with the crappy weather.

Can you fill us in [the people that couldn't make it] on times, who raced, and who did not?
What happened to the new cars?
fastest et?
winners?

Thanks

Wayne wpvw quickest ET of the weekend with a 6.89sec pass.
I think most of the Turbos ran good.
I think that most of the supercharged vw chucked belts, I think the KG got a good top speed even on another shitty run. 120mph.
correct me if i am wrong.

Ghia came out for a "feel the track" run to see if it was suitable for any power to be put down. Did a soft launch and low revs run through the gears sheared off a blower pulley belt (changed set up to a toothed belt from multi-v) but still managed a 122mph terminal speed.

The changes to the gear shift have meant that it can get all gears now, but the rear springs need to be adjusted as there was far too much spring in the back.

Except for the belt/pulley it meant some good development has occurred since the last shake down.

Better to have "shitty" careful passes and keep the car in one piece than go all out before the car is sorted for the kind of power it develops just to boost the ego.

Thanks guys.

I don't blame MIke for not running his car on that track.
Was DB there?
What did Brad run?
The new cars?

DB wasnt there, hes overseas on holiday, not sure about brads car, he had trouble with oil leaks. My fastback ran a little slower this year with traction issues but ran my best MPH at 88.5 so that was cool, now onto the tube chassis car, already got parts on the way..

Dave Stoker sheared the teeth off a blower belt in the pits so never saw the track.

Michael (Nasty) did a shake down/test skid and later a low power launch.

Sauron was running strong, but broke a tranny I think.

Rodney ran his new 198hp engine in his circuit car and ran as hard as Rodney usually does with no breakages iirc.

Unfortunately the Dog was a no show!!!! I have no idea what happened to Ross

In our camp, Tony with his flat black Manx had a new combo, trans by DB and engine by myself.
We broke-in the cam on Thursday before the event, ran sweet all weekend. Fastest Buggy on the day with consistant low 8's and over 80mph all weekend, iirc best of 8.1 @ 84mph. Not bad for a very tight 2276 with 040's and IDA's
My Hillbilly racer was not going to participate, but with the offer from Rodney of some IDA's again, with the help of #1 crewman Ritchie, we thrashed most of the week before the event to swap pans with my baja project to run the huge ZF 4-DS 18 transmission and irs 930 setup.
We made it, arriving later than expected on Sat morning after a week of 3 & 4 hours a night sleep. Car ran ok with a few little issues but came home unbroken after running 8.2 @ 84mph with a best 60 of 1.72 by driving off the line !!!

CLA founder Coletrickle showed up Saturday without a car...somehow his two engine budget managed niether.

Oh and Wayne, those two engines are way too similar !!!!
