Had good experiences with Classic and also go to Mick Motors pretty often (since they're near where I work).
Have also dealt with Vintage in the past and found them good too... just now that I'm in Bris they're not quite so convenient.
Gotta be said tho... with the AUD on the up and up, getting parts in from the states becomes more and more attractive... especially big ticket things
like heads etc.

Online is good. can be quicker than AUSSIE SUPPLIERS and cheap depending on the cost of shipping.
I have used George at classic , Boris at vintage and Roy at the bus stop.
George is the cheapest but service although good when you can get it is sometimes difficult to get.
Boris has great service and is more expensive
Roy has excellent service but is expensive.

Now, there is a big difference between the BEST parts [from europe or the USA] and more much expensive....
In Australia We need to rely on the seller on what quality We are buying.
In the USA Many shops state what country they are made in..
parts made in the USA are usually excellent quality
German or UK parts are great buy very pricey...
Now We have the cheap parts....
Brasillian = can be Good
Mexican = usually rubbish
Taiwan...YIKES EMPI [MrBug USA parts]
CHINA - D/YIKES
usually parts made in Denmark or Switzerland etc are OK..
so, its not a simple job....
Vintage Vee Dub does sell good quality parts... [not cheap]
Micks Motors in Brisbane is great- have been using Mick since 1996... prices are great... delivery is usually fast too,,
George at Classic in Sydney is just overworked.. most things are cheap... EMPI stuff is very cheap...
only real way to shop there is go there...
in USA- CB Performance - CIP1 - aircooled.net - evw -
I found CIP1 and CB Performance too expensive on freight..
You need to do Your homework there,,, many shops in the USA..
cheer

THIS is THE PROBLEM..
You get a quote from someone... cheaper than everywhere else... and the part is made in Brasil...
You get a quote from another shop and double the price..
but the part is made in Germany - EXCELLENT...
ball joints for example... I wouldn't put brasillian or Mexican or Taiwan/Chinese.... [EMPI] ball joints in My beetle as I want them to last more
than a couple of years...
So, European or US made... IS GREAT..
Door rubbers for example...
I would use Brasillian as they are easy to replace and cheap...
BUT WINDSCREEN AND WINDOW RUBBERS i PREFER to use
European or USA made..
I would hate to have to replace them in a hurry....
Now to make this really difficult..
There are some parts made in Brasil that aren't too bad..
and buying VW do Brasil made parts doesn't mean You are buying good parts...
so., there is no easy answer...
I recommend Mick Motors in Brisbane...
I have been buying parts from Mick since 1996..
but I have also bought from around 8 other VW parts shops
in other states too... and 4 the USA...
cheers
LEE

I've bought several deliveries from CIP1 and found them excellent. If I paypal its here in 6 days.
last week usd$200 of parts with usd$100 delivery still kept the parts cheaper than local suppliers ( and that included an exhaust which bumped up
delivery charges)
beware of lefty righty mistakes; their support is OK on questions excluding the Australian variances eg headlights

Classic VW at Rydalmere.............GREAT prices, NEVER has a problem if you wish to return something, and NEVER tries to sell you something you
don't need. He has invested a LOT of money and time to give the VW community better prices and a large range of products. 10/10 from me

TOO MANY VARIABLES
parts can be made in -Brasil - Mexico - USA - Taiwan - China-
Brasil and Mexico have Original VW Parts but not to the German standards...
All the USA made parts I have seen are EXCELLENT..
Wolfsburg Automotive in Victoria have good rubbers etc..
I have found some Brasillian parts OK... but I don't know of any brands etc...
if there was a good company making parts in Brasil and We knew the name... would make it much easier...
You can buy a part made in brasil in Australia which is OK
but when You reorder it from the same place...
it may be made by someone different and be a different color etc... and may also be rubbish...!!
so, its down to Mick Motors again...

The dollar is so good is better to buy from US at the moment what you pay for shipping you'll save on parts... CIP1 just had a 12% discount so was a
good time to order (they do it regularly too), here in a week and cheaper than parts here. The only thing to be careful is they are a bit elusive
about where parts come from.. what they write on the website isn't often correct (ie. website says part is German, but when gets here stamped made in
China).
Quality wise, I've bought a lot from WolfsburgWest and its always very good...quick to ship as well. They are a bit more expensive on shipping than
CIP1.
Aussie suppliers I've only bought from Vintage and Classic and both have been good but working random hours find it a bit hard to get into contact
when I need the part so I prefer online buying...
