Wanted,SA. 12 volt starter motor,gearbox or a case
Hello All, I am in need of a 12 volt starter motor to complete my conversion. I am also in need of a gearbox or an empty housing so I can start my
engine on the floor. I live in Adelaide SA so local is best option. Can you help? Cheers Gary

Hi Gary
I don't have a spare starter but I do have a modified bellhousing here that you could use to start the engine on the floor.
Don't want to sell it, but you are welcome to borrow it. I'm at Grange.
Cheers, Toby

Hello Toby. Thanks for the offer but I dont know how long I am going to need it, so I think a purchase is the best option. something like that is
always good to have for future resto's.. But again thanks Toby for the offer. Regards Gary

I've got an entire swing-axle gearbox in good condition, but I would want the price to reflect that, and it would be a waste to use it just for
starting an engine on the bench. It doesn't take that long to put the engine in the car for a test start if you can't find a bellhousing.

G'day mate,
I may have a starter at home, I will check it out for you and let you know.
If I do have one, it would be type 3....hopefully would be the same.

If it's urgent then go and see Paul at Volksfactory in Holden Hill, he'll be able to help you out. He's the only place I've found in SA with a
decent stock of good used parts on the shelf.

sorry, but the attitude only relates to the fact that as you know I have been crook as a dog and have bent over backwards to get something organised
for you as quick as possible as you seemed real urgent for it.
obviously it wasnt all that urgent after all ???
I think I'll keep it, sorry
Paul

Scarab, Paul I am sorry you feel this way, I know you have been Ill and I also said that you dont need to worry about it until you are well again.
With having work, family, sport, and coaching commitments sometimes I dont have enough hours in a day to do everything. You only sent me a Pm on monday
confirming you have a 12 volt starter and said you will deliver it to my house any night this week,it is only wednesday today so a bit of
understanding would be appreciated before I get abused for something out of my control. I know you were going out of your way to help me and I have
said before that it is much appreciated. Again I am sorry you feel this way.Regards Gary

sorry for any offence caused to you and sorry to others reading this thread for having to listen to my ramblings.
it was not my intention to abuse or offend, just expressing my annoyance.
Gary, you have PM
