Hi Rose,
Yes, there were 3 VW's at the meeting.I will let the others let all know how they went if they choose.
I was impressed with the amount of spectators that came over and said "Hello" during the (2 day) meeting However, there wern't many people from the
VW community.
To the VW Drag Racers that didn't enter, you missed a great meeting. Think of it, 5 qualifying sessions plus as many rounds that you win all for $150
entry fee . All of this spread over 2 days to give a lot of tinkering and sorting time. Plus, TopFuel / Top Alcohol traction on the startline
I'm not having a go at anyone, but wouldn't it be great if we could all organise ourselves to attend at least 1 open meeting together (and swim in
the big sea with all types of cars - including V8's).
As to how I went, (with the standards I set myself) I went crap. My reactions were all around .100 and the best run was the last run in round 1 where
I backed off because I couldn't see the opposing V8 and still broke out by nearly 2 tenths and ran a 12.26 @105 MPH. after dialing in on 12.35. My
best MPH for the meeting was 109.81 MPH. As Dave B. says. it's always good learning to adjust for different conditions (weather and traction). The
best thing is that I drove it on and OFF the trailer - no breakages even with the excellent traction
I am still playing clutches and I'm getting closer to where it should be
If any drag racers are interested in running, have a look at the WSID website, talk to your fellow racers, pick a meeting and let's have some fun
mingling with other makes of vehicles

I was out at the track over the weekend as well. Although the event was part of the track championship series i took the view that it was a 2 day test
and tune. I need the time and experience behind the wheel. with the potential for four qualifiers and at least a first round start it should have
given me 5 passes, which is better than any test and tune. unfortunately some blower issues stopped me early on from getting any real passes in. As
with any build there are problems that need to be ironed out, hopefully we will start getting on top of it soon.
Even though the weekend ended early for me, there was plenty of great racing to be seen from the stands.
Thanks to Mike and Shane and Probie for coming out and crewing for me, not to mention Chris and Henry for support.
A disappointing finish to my weekend was made easier by great mates

Henry
We do that at Gunnedah and it's not as formal as WSID but I would like to give it a go one day so maybe someone from down that way could organise
something at WSID and see who they can get to come along.
It's great to see the vee dubs giving it to the V8's I love it
