i fabricated this linkage and aircleaner to fit into a 36HP engine bay, uses the standard cable, with a shaft pivoting across the back of the manifold and a short ball joint linkage to pull the carb actuation arm, work perfectly

Hi

I've done a few with a longer cable going around a pulley and then back to the throttle.

Mine always hooked straight up too , but mine was fitted 180 deg around to how vwo60 has his fitted , with the main benifit of it being reversed as with vwo60's , that you can at least get to the idle jet .
But if you run a good fuel filter and arn't pulling the Carby apart everyother day then the idle jet placement although difficult to get to is not that bigger problem

Yes, these carbies are supposed to have the flat facing the front of the car. I always wondered if fuel surge is a problem when they are placed the other way around.

Also, is icing up a problem with these carbs?

I have used these carbies for years on other cars and I have plenty of spares. But I haven't dared fit one to Olive yet.

Cheers,
