damo's painfully slow baja project

so i gathered up the few pics i could find. its a 63 beetle which i have coverted to irs (donated by my superbeetle before it rusted away). new pan halfs have been installed and also a front disc conversion.

the shell was sand blasted and front and rear ends cut off as i wanted to use a one piece front end, till i changed my mind......

i ended up getting a 7 piece kit, and went about sourcing another cheap beetle shell to cut up and came across this baja. it was very rough and full of complementry rust:grind:

so i stripped it down, sold off the pan and the wheels, and thats as far as it has gone body wise. i bought a ej22 off a mate, ran well, though has a few oil leaks.
also aquired a liberty fwd 5 speed basket case to play with and try swap the diff around. also bought a set of new sunraisers, 15x5 and 15x8. when i do get stuck back into it, first i want to machine the front discs to accept the new bearings(unless there is a direct fit for a drum to disc conversion?) and make a start on the body work.

thanks guys, nice build btw smiley;). yeah the green one would have been a good ride back in the day, but i think rust and neglect got the better of it. one of the door locks was stuffed and a wooden gate lock was slapped on the inside of the door, rough aye.... lol
