Personalised Number Plates (NSW)

I've been thinking about getting personalised number plates, I checked on the RTA website and found out they're $415 Every Year!!!

Is everyone with personalised number plates paying this much??? Or is there a way around it???

Thanks

Makes me wish I got one ages ago. I think most of the ongoing fees only apply to newly purchased plates and vanity plates.

I think I heard / read recently that their policy had changed and those costs no longer apply, phone your local RTA and talk to a real person, maybe the web site isn't up to date.

Its only custom issue plates that attract an annual fee, theres no annual fee on off the shelf yellow/black and slimline ones.

Don, they'll never drop the fees, its too much of a money spinner for them,
I got a letter from the RTA a few weeks back saying theyre now running a seperate department that looks after the plates but no changes in fees

Its only the full on custom ones like roses and pollywaffles that have stupidily high fees

Yeah, I paid a $80 one off fee for my slim line black and whites with gobbledegook on them. I didn't care what they said, I was just concerned that I might get a dud one that said RA41ST or something similar.

How many other crap plates can you think of? They can't screen them all
