BEETLE SHIPPING BRISBANE TO DARWIN

Hi all
wondering if someone can suggest a transport company to bring my ebay purchase to me in Darwin?? It's a 62(3) Beetle and is currently in my dads driveway in Redland Bay. i saw another similar question posted here so tried http://www.carcarrying.com.au  but feel i must baulk at the $1550 door to door price.
I am in no real rush so would be happy to wait for a "spot" to be filled to save some cash. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers and Beers

I know someone through the club who shipped a beetle from Bris to Alice - will find out what the cost was on that (admittedly was 3 or 4 years back now).

Once had my brand new GTO shipped from Sydney to Perth when work sent me there for a few months... cost $990, without the car for almost 3 weeks instead of the 1 I'd been promised, had accessories stolen from inside it and just over $3000 worth of damage done to the front (which took almost 12 months to have fixed properly).

Decided never doing that again, so when my time there was done I drove it back across the Nullarbor instead... 5000km in 4 days, $500 odd in fuel, about $300 in motels, a heap of fun along the way and some once in a lifetime photo op's.

So yeah... get it running, get it registered and just drive it.
