Race Car Registration

Hi All,

Up until now my bug has always been on full street registration; but now my rego has slipped and I'm trying to work out what plates to put it on.

what does everyone else run for their cars?

The car won't be used on the street except to maybe take it to a workshop here or there, to save towing it around; but evetually I would like to have it entered into tarmac rally events which i'm not sure if they require rego or not.

Cheers

Shaun

It's different state by state unfortunately, but pretty common for historic class'd tarmac cars to be on Historic or Club rego.

Are you a member of a club ??? If so ask them for details...

Historic plates, as long as you go to appropriate events..................or you can get a 1 month "rally" rego every time you do an event.

Is the "rally" rego organised through the event organisers or the local authority (RTA etc...)?

I've spoken the ClubVW a little about it and they were talking about alot of race cars being overly modified to qualify for historic plates; is there much to this? As alot of the hillclimb VW's are on club rego and are quite modifed beyond the normal specs....

1303Steve told me at the last meeting so long as I don't go to far it would be alright

IMO the hillclimb cars shouldn't be on historic.............but thats another topic !!

The rally rego is via the RTA :tu:
