Engine type - carby or injected 2 LTR ??

Hi all,
I am looking at putting a 2ltr in my Kombi (75),
what would be the better choice, inj or carbs ?
And is there a 5 speed that bolts strait up ?
Thanks to all for the help.:punk:

Injected VS Carbied

Hi Leedel,

IMO the choice is yours - was/is your van injected or carbed to start with? The easier option would be to stick with whatever is already there... both system work well when they are correctly assembled and maintained.

Now, with that said, I prefer EFI - I converted my 78 Kombi from carbies to factory injection last time I had the engine out and have never looked back. I am planning on using EFI on all my (12 volt) air cooled VW's in the future as I have had a great deal of success and a massive increase in reliability (and a decrease in maintenance time) using EFI.

As for a bolt in 5-speed box - not that I am aware of... perhaps someone else can shed some light on this subject...
