Will these wheels fit?

Hi,
I am looking at fitting some Porsche 17 x 7 twists to my 72 ghia. I think they are ET55. Has anyone fitted these or similar to their Ghia and have them work without rubbing on anything?

I used the tyre calculator but am still not sure about the width with this ET.

Here are the results of the calculator if that helps.

Stock Tire - 165/65R15
Search Tires Tire 1 - 205/40R17
Section Width: 6.49 in 165 mm
Section Width: 8.07 in 205 mm

Rim Diameter: 15 in 381 mm
Rim Diameter: 17 in 431.8 mm

Rim Width Range: Unrecognized tire size.
Rim Width Range: 7 - 8 in

Overall Diameter: 23.44 in 595.37 mm
Overall Diameter: 23.45 in 595.63 mm

Sidewall Height: 4.22 in 107.18 mm
Sidewall Height: 3.22 in 81.788 mm

Radius: 11.72 in 297.68 mm
Radius: 11.72 in 297.68 mm

Circumference: 73.63 in 1870.2 mm
Circumference: 73.67 in 1871.2 mm

Revs per Mile: 887.3
Revs per Mile: 886.9

Actual Speed: 60 mph 100 km/h
Speedometer1: 59.9 mph 99.9 km/h

Speedometer Difference: - Speedometer Difference: 0.045% too slow
Diameter Difference: - Diameter Difference: 0.05%

Any help/advice would be appreciated.

Looks like your diametre is spot on, so using an online offset calculator

http://www.1010tires.com/wheeloffsetcalculator.asp

My manual says 46mm stock offset for a ghia and i used a 6" wheel in the calc. .

Inner Clearance: 22mm less
Outer Position: extends extra 4mm

is it lowered or stock?

If lowered - I doubt it. Reckon you would need a narrowed beam??

If not lowered - might look funny???

Thanks Bizarre. Not sure about ride height yet. I thought it might make it harder lowering and fitting bigger rims.
