Nothing I can think of....

VW is 4 x 130mm

and normally 15 inch....

a space saver would get you out of trouble if it had the correct centre and holes...

but again
a couple of bottles of tyre stop leak [or whatever its called]
and a good small high pressure 12 volt compressor to pump the tyres up...

or an old 4 stud standard wheel and tyre... 15 inch...

don't forget a jack will be needed with a tyre/wheel... lol

I have measured the bolt / stud centres on my buggy and as near as I can measure them they are 93mm center to center between adjacent bolts, I have some rims (14x6 mags) off a 73 L bug and they measure the same, surely both cars can't have the same non standard conversion, so am I measuring them correctly? ie:- adjacent bolts, or are they measured between opposite bolts, that would seem strange to me as it would make it hard to measure a 5 stud wheel.

130mm is the PCD or pitch circle diameter of VW 4 stud Beetle hubs. The PCD will be the same as the distamce between the centres of diagonally opposite bolts. I recon that is what you have.
130mm PCD is larger than anything common over here.

ARSO, they are measured so that the center of the bolts line up with a circle of a given diameter, that diameter being the PCD (in my case 130mm, give or take, as I reckon closer to 132mm) so if it's "larger than anything common over here" why would I have two vehicles the same or probably more to the point where is "over here"

You're not gonna find a space saver with 4x130

The only cars that ran that pattern were 4lug air cooled vws, porsche 914 and a couple of 70s models Lancias

Spare in a can is your best option

Sorry Lee, you don't get it, I have 4 stud, reading back over my post I can see that it is a bit vague, only mentioned 5 stud as I couldn't figure out how the stud centers were measured on a 5 stud if you measured opposite bolts.
Brenden, thanks for the offer, do you realy have 4 stud space saver?, if you do what car did it come off?.

Don,

No not space saver, just have some 14 inch buggy wheels that would suit if it comes to the crunch.

Cheers

no good having one of those space saver wheels, if when it comes time to use it, your car body is sitting on the ground because the wheel is to small :lol:

:lol::crazy::lol::crazy::lol:
car forums. where a lot of peoples good intentions end up taking a good old car off the road forever never ever to see the road again. :fakesniff:

Another problem with space savers is 14" ones which are the most common don't clear VW calipers on the front as I found out
Had to get a 15" one
