WTB emulsion tubes & jets for idf
Hey I am hoping that someone might have some jetting bits for a pair of 36 IDF webers gathering dust on a tin somewhere . I am after F11 emulsion
tubes, 135 mains, 45 idles and 180 airs.
Cheers Daniel.

Yeah thanks guys, I did find weber performance melbourne but my shopping cart price started climbing quickly so I thought I would check for some
second hand ones first. You never know your luck!

Most any carb place will have the bits you're after... but yeah, pricey.
Also means that used ones aren't much cheaper than new... it's not like jets will wear out after all.
If you're not in a hurry I reckon try e-bay.

I use to run IDF36's
Everyone told me to run 50's
Had rich backfire
I went against advice and ran 45's and was sweet.
Best lean on mixtures was about 1.5 - 2 turns out
Interesting that Jon Connolly upgraded is Jetting Basics about a year ago.
All Jon's words refer to Webers
"for IDFs, make the idle jet 1.25 the size of the throttle body. For example, a 40 IDF would need a 40 x 1.25 = 50 idle jet. A 44 IDF would need a 55
idle jet, and a 48 IDF would need a 60 idle jet"
So.............36 x 1.25 = 45

Thanks heaps Mat I will give you a call after the chrissy madness is out of the way. Maybe I could drop the webers in when I get down to pick up that
head you bead blasted for me? I might end up needing to bring my "slap together engine" down as well to make sure it doesn't fly apart on ignition
:P

Good info, however every combo is different.
For example take my stock 1600 Bug. It's completely stock except for a set of extractors.
I fitted a set of 36idf's that came with 47 idle jets.
It was an absolute pig to drive and my wideband showed lean, I ended up with 52's and now it drives great and gets good economy.
I'm not saying John Connolly is wrong, just that every combo is different and needs to be treated as such.
