My 68 beetle has a steel right angle piece the length of the battery and has one hole in the centre
there is a stud sticking up from the floor that goes thru the hole

the battery Must have a lip for the angle piece to hold onto....

I presume Yours would be the same...????

LEE

PS: see if I can find a photo or diagram.... Lee

Many european cars used the same thing...
actually all of the cars that used the batteries with the Edge on the bottom...
actually they have two edges... one either side...

the battery fits into the one on the floor...
and the angle bit clamps the other side...
screwed to the floor...

and the battery cannot move... which is a legal requirement..

the angle bit I'm sure you can buy generic as it suits so many batteries..
its the same one as used on Japanese vehicles on the top edge with two long j bolts...
only instead of two holes... one at each end...

You drill a hole in the centre if there isn't one there already.

LEE
