VW Transporter 'Rockton'
This is the VW Transporter Rockton 4Motion, just released for sale in Europe.
The VW 4Motion system provides constant all-wheel drive, with a rear diff lock as standard. The suspension and shocks are reinforced and lifted 30mm
for better ground clearance. Under-floor protection plates are fitted as standard. It comes with reinforced 16" steel wheels and all-terrain
tyres.
It comes with a choice of two TDI engines, 104 kW or 134 kW. Prices start in Germany from 34,545 Euro (around $A46,680)
It comes standard with two rear seats, cooler box, folding table and mesh cargo barrier. There's also wide variety of VW factory options available
for police, ambulance, building work, rescue and recreational use.
No word on whether it will come to Australia...

Very cool.
I'm sure they will not be $46000 if they make it here.

That is awesome! It would be pointless in Australia though because it would cost such a ridiculous amount of money here! I'm imagining that this
would have to cost $60 grand here, right?

A base transporter bus is ~$50k, a caravelle is over $60k. I'm guessing these would be dearer.

Actually the base 103 kW SWB Transporter starts at just $39,180 and goes up from there.
The 132 kW 'Crew-van', a body/trim style similar to the Rockton, starts here at $47,490.
Also the 103 kW Caravelle Trendline starts at $49,990. To get up to $60K you're thinking of the LWB 4Motion Multivan Comfortline - top of the range
at $60,990. I doubt the Rockton would be that much.
VW Australia should be doing everything they can to bring the Rockton here and selling it to the emergency services, and the defence forces.
