Flipped transmission how to setup shifter rod

Hi All

Have got a flipped bus transmission in my baja kombi and trying to setup up the shifter rod to work correct. It has alot of play and hard to decide which gear you are in any advice to correct this. It currently uses uni s and a bend shifter rod are there any other options.

Thanks
BJ

Have a look at the backend of any Formula Vee M8.
Try to avoid bent rods if you can. Use straight rods, supported with bushings and change directions with unis.

If it is not 091 the pivot rod will slide out.
091's have circlips to retain this pivot, whereas 002s do not.
Normally the orientation and gravity hold it in place on 002's.
Otherwise, being indexed like that should pose no problems,
especially with a box that has the coupling hole on both sides of the selector shaft.

Another thing to note is, the case should be drilled to allow oil flow between the diff and gear case.

Its actually coupled to a V6 in a baja kombi with reduction hubs.. I didnt set it up just trying to get some feel in the shifter. Have order a new shifter and replace all the unis currently in it. Hopefully have pics and updates here for you soon.
