Nice looking lug bolts.. .where to buy?

Hi pplz,

I need new lug bolts but i want some nice'ish ones that are chrome to match my rims.

Where in aus (or even perth) can i find a selection/where has everyone else got theirs from?

Is there a typical length that i should order for rims or is it just a matter of checking what i have?

Also;; same question for locking lug bolts!!

Glenn.

cheers for any help u can give :)

try your local tire place, they can generally order what you want.

Careful with chrome... most end up rusting really soon. Cheap chroming and then the friction on the edges gives it a starting point

Hi
this is non VW... but My Wife's Suzuki swift chromed nuts had three crack while I was undoing them...
they were also going rusty...

One cracked bad enough that I had to have a bolt welded to it to get it off...

after checking out 4 tyre services... for replacements..
and no one had any.... at all??

I then checked on the internet and ebay...
and the only place that I could find that sold HIGH Tensile chromed nuts that I needed was in the USA....

I bought a pack of 5 to check them out...
then bought a pack of 20... not expensive either..

LEE

When You do find some locally, make sure You wax them every few weeks to keep the rust away...
I have seen chromed VW studs on cars...
I'm sure You could get studs and buts....

Be careful using chrome studs. If they are not heat-treated IMMEDIATELY after chrome plating, they can suffer from hydrogen embrittlement - deadly:td::td::td:

My beetle I first owned was a Championship beetle and it came with silver plastic bolt covers like mentioned earlier and I believe CIP do them in black and silver.

Champion would be US, each country had their own name for the 72 record breaking models.

They were just 15millionth commemorative here but Europe called them Marathon beetles.

If you use a rattle gun on the chrome nuts the chrome will come off, i have two cars with chrome nuts on them for years with no issues
