Curious tho cos have noticed on a couple of drag cars now... no paint on the inner guards and firewalls... a weight saving thing, or just painting separately ???

Schmick, Ford vermillion fire paint? Looks like my first car colour, except your flat paint job is about as shiny as my gloss paint job was.....

Yeah, its real close to that colour. When I asked asked for that colour to be mixed up the paint guy just said to me "yeah I know the colour, Brambles Orange" not sure if the orange trucks are still around? My car was cruelly known as "the Orange Peel" due to it's show standard finish......

It's pretty well documented actually.... Have a look around.

And just to nip this little conversation in the butt before people get their noses out of joint.... If we all did and liked the same thing, it would get very boring.... What is being built here is awesome to see and enjoyable to watch/read.... I just don't like the colour.... Simple as that.

Hey Ben..... Can you tell me how the transaxle has been mounted?..... I assume solid, but has it been lifted at all?..... I really like the beam and mods you did there.... Odd that you needed to do the beefing up, but given the damage that has been experienced but others, it was a smart move.... How much lighter is the beam compared to stock?.... The reason I ask, is that I have been thinking about getting one from Rodney for the POS.

On the POS I have one of those ali kits that Mark (?) was selling out of here (its the one that's both stock and 1" higher).... And some of Craig's K bars along with the traction bar (off my old car) I got from Hellbug way back in the day... Worked really nicely on the car.... Launched very hard with no tramp at all..... But have been thinking about going with the 1" lift with the rebuild.... My concern currently is the clearance with my ERCO's (205/70-15's and stock guards) if I do it.... How close are your rear tyres to the guard lip currently, and do you think you'll have enough upper guard clearance if you do go with the lift?... You've got fiberglass guards, so might have more room.... I just dunno.

That front on shot with the clip fitted... just... WOW.

:tu: :tu: :tu:

Is it going to be getting painted headlights and stickers and stuff, or just staying the one colour all over ???

Also I think you need to change the title of your thread... there's not too much "rat" about this car now, and barely identifiable from when Craig had it...
