[WTB - NSW] Wanted - Pre 67 Beetle...
Hi vee dubbers,
I'm interested in picking myself up a 67 or earlier model Beetle for about $2500 - $3000. Good running order with little to no rust, good for two or
three days a week driving.
I've looked over 15 pages of the most recent NSW posts and there are a few I will be contacting, but perhaps there is something else out there...or
somebody interstate thinks theirs would be worth a look and they have some good ideas about how to have it relocated???
My name is Lance and I live in Wollongong. I can be contacted on 0414 619 344.
Cheers...

I guess I'll have to keep looking... no real hurry (I don't think? - but where are all the bugs these days??)
Perhaps I'm overly optimistic, or unrealistic that you can get a decent bug for under 3k? Is this the case? If so, I'd be interested to find out
what $4400 will get me...???

Could be worse mate, I'm looking for the exact same thing, same price range - but in Adelaide. Been actively looking for about 7 months solid. I'm
sure you'll find something in NSW, if you don't, then I've got no hope!

Yep saw the "Satan" black (their words not mine) 66 at Aldinga. Personally I think he wanted too much for what it was, apparently everyone agreed as
it never sold.
Anyway sorry to hijack your thread, best of luck in your search mate.

Cool.
Na man, its no hijack. Its research. Its finding out and listening to whats going on, whats good and whats not and whether an interstate trip is
necessary or not...(I contacted the '66 in Aldinga because I wasn't seeing anything in NSW. Thankfully a friend put me onto this forum and I'm
happier to wait and see what I find in NSW, atleast for the moment...) Its also helping me to decide whether to jump on this one in Sydney I found
because somebody else has spend 7 months looking or whether to let it go because there a 'dime a dozen'. Obviously, the latter is not the case
anymore...
So thank you for the chat and input, it is much appreciated.
Anybody else with some advise or suggestions are more than welcome to add their 2 cents worth :-)
Fingers crossed this one in Sydney isn't a rust bucket... I'll find out tomorrow night :-)

I Haven't seen any real good beetles for $2500 for years
You may be lucking , but like AyeBee
said it could take some time.
A lot of people seem to get old beetles to fix them up a bit.
but they just seem to fark them up , so thats why I think a good old beetle is hard to find.

Wow, hellbugged, that does look like a clear stock ride.
You wouldn't believe it (i still can't believe i did it!) but I picked myself up a 'mostly' stock '63 on friday :-) It would probably fall in
along side your 'ratter' but to my untrained eye the main 'big trouble' areas for rust seemed clear and with the 12V conversion done and a 1600cc
fitted I'm hopeful my $2600 was well spent. I'll have to fix it up a bit, hopefully I don't 'fark it up' (no trophy winner, just lookin good
:-)
So, thanks to everyone that has had something to add to this thread, it is much appreciated and such a great feeling to now be a true member of this
awesome VW community :-)
There is still hope for you AyeBee, but I'm not sure if that 'perfect' bug is out there these days, but I do hope you find what your looking for
sooner rather than later...

We have a great little beetle for sale. $3000 unreg but would pass a roadworthy without anything major. Has a dent behind rear side window caused by
runaway trampoline in recent storm and no rust section except for a few cracks around engine lower apron. this has been my daily driver for a few
years and never missed a beat.

We are yp in Qld and have had a splitty ute sent up to Brissy from adelaide using door to door car carriers and that cost $800. We may be able to drop
it into Nth side of Brissy for you to help with transport costs if interested
