What did you do before the axe fell, why did the other company call for a reference? and what excuse did they give you for terminating your
employment?

One of the best things that I found out - many years ago, luckily - is that 'things don't just happen........you have to MAKE them happen'.

techy working a a small company. Doing industrial printing and cutting machines.
basically its electronics, mechanical and robotics.
My boss imports, sells and installs these machines. He represents manufactures from Germany, Switzerland and Japan I think.
So no bs china stuff here
So my eventual roll will be head techy taking care of installation from port to customer, maintenance, mods, upgrades, support, repairs.
best part is the connections I will be able to whip up a dxf file in
cad and send it to one of the peoples we know/do work for us and make pretty much what i want for my dubs.

hi there
I hope you were a casual (meaning casuals really have no grounds to complain about nuffin)
No one can loose there job on the ground another company called up to do a reference check
If this is the case I would be giving fair work a call
http://www.fwa.gov.au/
I have to admit it sounds askew that you are still working somewhere and another company calls
I would certainly be giving them a mouth full
Futue te ipsum!!!

I am looking for a panel beating apprentice. Must be willing to learn only the proper and old school way of restoring and making cars. Fabricate
panels and parts, and have a superb eye for detail and a lot of patience.
You would not learn much about any modern cars or bog work under me.

There you go, Katrina. As they say, one door closes - another one
opens. Here's your chance to "make it happen".
Panelbeating is a great trade [ I started in 1956, and still enjoy it ] to learn, so go for it.
Cheers, Greg

Sometimes you gota do what you gota do.
I am a young county guy, never had a job anymore than a few weeks, never been in the city.
Now I get thrown into a a specialist high end job in Melbourne and next week i go to Sydney for 3-4 days to do a job and it will only be my 2nd week
of this job.
I am very closed off person and keep to myself most of the time. If I can do this I am sure you can do it too.
Just take the plunge

Mostly old English sportscars like Austin Healey, MG, Triumph, Aston Martin. Some Porsche, BMW, Ferrari, Alfa thrown in, along with obscure ones.

Bloody Hell!!!! I would have killed for a job like that when I first started work.
There were only Holdens, Morris Minors, Austin A 40s etc to work on. Luckily I transferred to a VW dealer, and worked on good cars.
You need a dedicated person to be your apprentice, helbus.........Good luck.

you can not put brains in a young head. only guide
them... i remember when i was 18... sheish. been a long interesting
road though.
katrina, you said it yourself. you are 18. now is the time when you sprrout wings and experience the world. you are reading like you
are late 20s and ready to settle down in newcastle. life is about oportunity, creating it, experiencing it and taking it. dont end up a 30 something
non married mum with no options. so many of those already. talk to your family and decide what you want. if you want work security (allow you to
travel or be respected and first draft pick among your peers) then a trade or degree is first priorty. if its love and family then marry some one with
a trade or degree.
