Puzzled about 73 1600L Beetle ?

Was the 73 1600L an Aussie delivered car or are there some that have been brought iin as 'grey imports' ?

I'm just a bit puzzled as when I tried to find them on Redbook they weren't there , only the 1300 was shown.

Aus made,

They were far more common than the 1300s cos most people paid the extra money for bigger engine, better brakes and modern suspension

Dont take too much notice of vw info on non vw sites.
Most of the public don't even realise that there's 2 different models of beetles available, superbug S and L were the top of the line then 1300 were the pov paks
