Craig will keep that in mind it would be perfect for the oil etc still need a mounting for a tacho

you can buy a 52mm VDO tacho that fits into the hole.........so you can have a oil temp, pressure and tacho in the plate.

Another option for a tacho is an Ultralight series which is 3"3/8ths.I bought this size for my wifes beetle as a Procomp Monster tach is too big for
a beetle dash in my opinion..

Vintage speed do a tacho mount for monster tachos..and I believe from looking on Vintage Speeds' website, Vintage Vee Dub are the Australian
stockists.

ITS a bit had to make a tacho not so noticeable , because then its hard to see when your driving.

Either on top of the dash or underneath..doesn't matter really..Previous experience tells me any autometer tacho with a shift-lite tells you when to
shift anyway..especially when your whole cabin is lit up!!.

Ok there is a great deal of debate about tinware, should I re use tinware of my existing engine or do i buy new? If the answer is new where can i get
the best quality tinware from?

I use German when ever possible, no new tinware fits, Scat seems better than most, but it all will need a tweek or more.

Ok getting close to ordering final parts for the engine. what clutch do you recommend?
I am thinking of a Kennedy stage 1 plate with a standard disc?

For what it's worth I've seen you drive Paul, and it's like 'Driving Miss Daisy'.
So I'd also be interested in people's thoughts on if you could get away with a standard plate and disc. Stage 1 isn't too heavy, might be 'cheap
insurance'

Picked up a set of near new Delorto 40's for my 1776, they came out of a 1916 with the following size venturi and jets
venturi 34 and jets 140
After doing some research it seems to me they are a little large for a 1776 street car. Based on what I have read it would be more suited to changed
out the venturi to 32 and the jets to 132
Any comments?

CB Performance parts arrived yesterday still waiting on aircooled to complete the second order. Once it has all arrived I will take a photo.
At this stage i do like the second engine but will wait till all the parts arrive to see which way to go.

After receiving a number of quotes i ended up giving the build to Vintage Vw and they have been excellent, sending me photos and regular updates. The
engine assembly is now complete and the engine has been fired up. Just waiting on Boris to have some workshop space to take my car.
The photos here show assembly with the temp dizzy and exhaust for the test runs. i will be installed a vintage speed exhaust and Mallory dizzy.
Tinware was imported from USA witha SCAt 36hp doghouse cooler and restored german tinware then powedercoated
While Boris has the car I will also be having the following work
Replacement of fuel line, brake line, accelerator and clutch cables.
Installation of Tacho, oil pressure, oil temp and head temp gauges
