cyclone yasi wow
just got power on so i thought i would see if anyone was affected by the monster storm,,i picked a good one for my first cyclone in mission beach it
has made a great big mess for us residents up here but the good thing was no people have been killed from the cyclone,,,,our house suffered minor
damage with the front doors ripping clean off there hinges and left smashed on the verandah,,had a window go in my boys room and trash all his music
gear,,lots of water thruogh the house,,it amazes me that there was not to many houses totally destroyed,,i got to drive through cardwell the other day
and the people down there have real problems as no houses were left undamaged,,i fell for those people in cardwell and tully heads ect,,i am happy we
are still alive (not that anyone would care) and still able to live in our home..2 thumbs up for the pole home construction with bunkers under
them,,if anyone on here got affected and you need a hand with anything please pm me and i will try to help,,cheers peter

hey bugzla i have heard some amazing stories of people who were stuck on the side of the road with flood waters and were sent to the calvary christian
college and they said the way they were looked after down in townsville by that school and church was something amazing,,,,2 thumbs up for townsville
for looking after there fellow far north qlders,i hope your self and family are doing alright,,i know townsville was very worried about the tidal
serge,,i have never in my 47 years seen the deverstration of a tidal serge until i seen cardwell and port hinchinbrook,,i had tears in my eyes drivig
through those areas,,makes you respect life,

we only lost power for 3 days, no house damage luckily. drove through cardwell the other day and I didn't realise I was in Cardwell until I hit the
main street!!!! Unbelievable, looks like an atomic bomb hit, police, ses, army and everyone was there!!! we were definitely lucky in Cairns.
