[FS - QLD] 1969 Lowlight Kombi - Original paint, Perfect Patina (Price drop)

It is with regret that I have to sell my amazingly original 69 Lowlight Kombi to help fund a T5 purchase (need to be able to tow a car trailer on a fairly regular basis)....

This really needs to be seen in the flesh to be believed - the surface rust is the ONLY rust in this bus. All the 'usual areas' are bone dry including both doglegs, inner and outer nose, below windscreen, A-pillars, lower b-pillars, long side and slider side sill (inner and outer), short side sill, rear arches, and rear corners!

I run DAS Resto Haus ( http://dasrestohaus.com.au/gallery2/main.php  for some of our work) so I know what rust looks like, and also how expensive it is to repair PROPERLY!

On a typical bay window resto, this bus would save $10-12K on rust repairs....but really, why would you want to lose that original patina, and original paint that can never be replicated? We have just put all new brakes throughout (m/c, all wheel cylinders, flex lines, shoes radius ground to machined original drums) plus new tyres and four new seat belts.

It has a very nice smooth, quiet single port 1500 (or may be 1600) engine with new engine mounts - pushes along at 60-65mph with ease (would allow more if gearing was higher).

I have seen a lot of buses in my time, and this has to rate as one of the most original, unmolested of them (no radio, no hacked wiring etc).

Price: $14,000
Location: Burleigh Heads, Gold Coast, QLD
Contact: alanagyik@hotmail.com, PM or 0417 645 854

Feel free to come and inspect, bring a magnet (for those bog inspectors out there), look over it thoroughly and you won't be disappointed.

I was in the process of building a narrowed beam to slam it down for the ultimate rat looker (happy to finish the process if so desired).

Cheers
Al

Roof has surface rust but no major pitting - could be ankor waxed to protect

Original sticker still on slider handle recess (original sticker still on inside trim panel too)

There are a few small dents/scratches but again nothing major.

In the past a battery has obviously leaked and corroded the battery tray - someone in the past has obviously hacked out some of the tray and battery now sits on just a flat sheet (has been secured with basic battery tie down) - this corrosion (not rust from accumulated water/moisture) is the only area requiring work

Everything else underneath is still dry and original

Price drop to $14,000

Some people may still think its expensive for something that is not nice and shiny with blingy wheels.....but for anyone who appreciates the fact there is no rust repair to do on this bus will appreciate why it is priced accordingly.

Negotiable for a quick sale (within reason).
Cheers

Hi Al - that's a great looking Kombi.

I get the patina thing with OG paint and I love it but do you think that roof rust can be stopped if it's Ankor waxed?
