10:1 will be ok as long as you're putting in 98 and have adequate cooling :)
A good friend of mine was running a 2276 with 10.5:1 every day and it was fine.

Sounds like a beast :)

There are a few details that need to be fine tuned first, like where do you live and exact useage (altitude and ambient temperature and type of driving are why this is asked) What heads and exhaust, any coatings internally? Sump and oil system used?

10:1 will live ok used daily and raced but it would definately require sump, ext cooler/filter, ceramic piston tops, etc etc. esp if you drive at 110km/h with a close box in the middle of summer towing a trailer to the dump 120km away!!!! Also as Clarky said...adequate cooling, that means an early car requires a vented or IMO top propped decklid with the large cooling fan..... (again etc etc etc) It's all in the details.

For the record, I'd bring it down some depending on the answers to some of the above questions.

live on the coast, have large gene berg sump and filter, most prob get fan for cooler.
the heads are 040's with 44 x 37.5 and 52cc chambers. yep 44 x 37.5 in superbug.
no low ratio gearbox just an AT id'd single side plate. std ratio.

cheers for the coments. taken onboard, i would use the cooling, i like to by default.
can never have enough.
