WTB: Parts for Type 3 12v conversion
Hi there. I'm looking to convert my Type 3 from 6v to 12v so I'm trying to track down some parts.
Things like the wiper motor, starter, generator or alternator, lights etc.
If you have anything that would be suitable, please let me know.
Cheers

for the motor you will need a complete fan housing as the generators are diff diameter. I have some and you will need a 69-71 wiper motor as the
spigot centres are different on later ones ,should have one of these to.
list goes on , coil, bush for belhousing so you can use 12v starter, chokes , dissy capaciter, regulator, horn, clock (good luck finding a
working one) globes and headlight bulbs are easy enough as is coil .
I can help out with most bits

if you fit a 12V starter you will need to change the fly wheel as well. the 6V starter will turn the motor over (quite quickly) and so long as you
dont keep the key turned and crank the life out of it, the starter will last for many years!

Thanks for that everyone.
Currently trying to sort out the bits and pieces I need.
It's a pretty long list, and I'm sure I'll miss something, but thanks for the help!
Cheers
