how to remove hinge pin in the door hinge

Hey guys, i have been trying to remove my hinge pin in my doors hinge and it doesnt want to budge.. to me it looks like it needs to be hammered out because it isn't screwed in. But i have been hammering and hammering but it did not budge 1milimeter. Is there a technique or special way of getting it out ?:?:

there is a puller that was of a factory design other than that id suggest wd40 and soak it over night. failing that heat the hinge but that will burn the paint off it.

A mate of mine in Port Macquarie has a hinge pin removal tool. I am pretty sure club VW in Sydney have one as well. Maybe give someone there a call.

I used a door hinge pin remover....
it does work....
My hinge pins let go with a bang when they moved..
so there was no way I could budge them....
even though My hinges get oiled every month..

Lee

Another way is to replace the hinges with good or new hinges.....

Thanks Jeff, bit too early for me.

Planning on late April - way too busy right now to even look sideways at the Dub.
Appreciate the offer though.

I haven't even tried yet, who knows they might just pop right out? (Yeah right).

OK, another thought - My daughter is comming down to Port mid year from Brisvenice, if it is OK with Matt, she could bring it with her then.

It is actually the one in Lee's photos by the way.

I have someone local who wants to use it soon, just waiting for him to get back to me.

I'll get a quote to see how much it costs to post. Only cost US$38 to get to me when I bought it. Even around that price both ways (Port to Brissy and back), it would still be cheaper than paying someone to do the job for you.

Regards,

Matt.

Let me know how it goes - with Tricia in Brisbane now, we go back and forth a bit - something small like that is no problem to take if we are going that way anyway, even if it is only one way.
