Car Wrapping
Hey guys,
I've been thinking of getting my car 'wrapped' for some time now. Does anyone know of anywhere where it can be done?

sure mate, can do.. basically its a big sticker that is hand applied and conforms to the vehicle.. printed with a solvent inkjet printer.. partial
wraps are more the rage as full wraps run into the thousands..

I saw a bay window Kombi done on a UK TV show...
it was blue with large bubbles all over it...
looked great...
I think it was done professionally ... I can't see anyone really doing it themselves..
try a large vinyl sticker... and apply without bubbles...??
The signs etc on the sides of Buses are now usually Vinyl stickers ...
flat surfaces would be the easiest.... BUT a beetle is mostly CURVED... YIKES....
Would love to see a beetle done...

As would I Lee - I think it would look pretty spectacular done right.
That said I've been calling around and as Warb said, I think it would be too expensive - Might just go for a home job spray for now

Pretty brave to attempt a wrap on a bug I reckon Ollie. Maybe a partial on some of the flatter panels would work ok. I just hope you are way more
artistic than me if you go down this route. If you are really keen to do this drop me a pm. I have a vw mate who is (still) restoring an oval and he
works for a signage company. He might be interested in a challenge.

I had signwriting on my bug when I had my HOTONDO HOMES franchise. The logo went over the back guard etc, and the bloke applying it had a lot of
trouble getting a 2D graphic to go over a VERY 3D car. He had to make up and add a lot of extra bits to make it work.
Made it look good though I reckon.

My neighbour works for TNT as a courier
They use to have to buy a white van and then get it sprayed 1/2 orange and black stickers.
Now it is "wrapped" and they just peel it oss at the end of service.
Not quite a bug's curves but it is far from flat sides

Remember that a wrap only really lasts a couple of years. yes they can look fantastic and there is no reason why it could not be applyed to a bug
(seen plenty of bike tanks done pefectly) but the colour will fad and crack after time.
my hnext preoject i looked at a wrap for ease but they dont last so it turned me away.... if ur willing to replace then they can look bloody great!

They completely wrapped a mini with carbon fibre look vinyl on wheeler Dealer on Turbo max, looked great, as for putting vinyl stickers on you mix a
small amount of dish washing detergent and water in a spray bottle and spray the back of the sticker and the spot were you are going put it, apply the
sticker and when it is in the correct position use a squeegee to remove the liquid and air bubbles. finnished
