Introductory Offer - Manxter 2+2 Kits in Australia ...
Well fellow Buggy Heads the ink is hardly dry on the Deal, Meyers Manx Australia is now selling Meyers Manxter Kits in Australia.
Yes that is correct you can now become not just a Buggy owner but a Meyers Manxter Owner and join the every growing club of Manxter owners and find
out exactly why the Manxter is the top selling 4 seater buggy in the world. With over 150 Sold worldwide no other buggy manufacture comes close, not
even the cheap ass clones and flop copies.
Having just spent some quality time with Bruce and Winnie in the USA at the Meyers Manx Factory I am very happy with the quality and attention to
detail of the kits and the accessories. As they say those who can do and those who can’t copy. I have seen a lot of buggies over the years and can
say without a doubt that the Manxter is the most refined and complete kit offered on the market today.
As part of an introductory offer Meyers Manx Australia will be offering Standard Manxter Kits for $9350 AUD ex Brisbane.
You may think this is a little pricey when compared to others, well have a look at what is included and then compare to the other kits and the add ons
you would need to match it.
The kits include but are not limited to:
Parts Included:
•Fiberglass Body
•Fiberglass Hood with Associated Hardware & Pinchwelt
•Fiberglass Air Box & Gas Spring Assembly
•Fiberglass 2-piece Dash with Glove Box & Instrument Panel (instruments not included)
•Fiberglass Windshield Surround assembled with glass
•Fiberglass Hardtop in Black or White with Mounting Hardware
•6-point Steel Top Support System with Side Intrusion Bars
•Front & Rear Bumpers with Accompanying Bracketry
•Transmission Mount for Type I or Type II
•Lights: Headlights, Turn-Signals, License Plate Light, Taillights.
•Turbo Side Mirrors
•“Manxter 2+2” Rear Emblem & “Meyers Manx” Front Emblem
•Serial Number Plate mounted on body
•All Body Support Bracketry, Fasteners, Hood Hinge, Hood Latches, Glovebox Hinges
•Instruction Manual
•1-Year Complimentary Manx Club Membership or Renewal (member number will be assigned)
There will be a number of changes with the Australian Manxter Kit to allow compliance with the required ADR's such as full width bumper attachments
padded dash, DOTARS / NCOP submission paperwork and roll bar mouts to name just a few. These changes will not detracted from the look and feel where
ever possible.

These are on a full length VW chassis (except super bug). You can pull a beetle body off and drop one of these straight on.
As for engineering - It will be the responsibilty of the builder to engage an approved engineer from that state to inspect and approve the build. It
will also be the responsibilty of the builder to apply for approval to build from the state transport authority. There is a number of VW/buggy shops
around the country that could assist with this.
Fibreglass testing documentation will be provided with each body. All supplied hardware including rollbars, seatbelt mounts, front and rear bars will
meet current engineering requirements.

Further to that the kits come with a complete NCOP Check List and if you are in Queensland the completed modification applications. All you need to do
is sign them and send them in. They go through as one of two things.
1 - ICV with excemptions - Stays as VW Beetle year of manufacture is 1969 and only body has to comply with current rules which is does.
2 - ICV - Full ADR Compliance including emissions, braking, lane change etc.
Option 1 is a pretty simple process to complete and I have put a few buggies through without issue. Being full length makes it pretty simple.
I am talking to a VW Shop in NSW and it looks like they will be building Manxter kits so will be able to help out NSW people, same with Victoria. If
all the orders go as expected then by the end of the year I would expect to see Manxters on the Road in VIC. NSW and QLD and have VW shops in each
state who are authorised to retail and build Manxters.

What determines if it's assessed as option 1 or 2?
Is it the type of engine you run or is there more to it?
BTW - Great looking buggies.

Without going on forever it really comes down to one thing .... tyres ... with option 1 you can only legally run 215 x 75 x 15 like every other buggy
on the road is suppose to.
With option 2 you can run any size you want as it is a new vehicle and you make the rules BUT you must pass the tests etc.
Most go Option 1 but you can go either and choose to go either if you like.

hehe thats ok.
There is a number of changes we have to make in order to get it passed approvals. Mostly minor like padded dash. internal braces, seat belt mounts
etc.
Dash is two piece and the upper section will be padded and right hand drive on the local models. The padding is done by a dash place and is compliant.

I have started uploading the USA Manxter 2 + 2 Info - http://www.meyersmanx.info/
It will give you an idea of exactly what the kit includes and the way in which it is built. You will have to excuse the scribble my 3 year old decided
he wanted to draw a buggy .

The intro kits come in just about any colour you care to select. As these first ones are made in the USA and the Fibreglass Factory has the ability to
match most requests in Gel Coat you get to pick.
The Australian ones will have less options and only come in standard Gel Coats although 2 Pak paint can be arranged in any colour if you like.

With the impending opening of the online Meyers Manx Australia Shop it was time to go and get some buggy stock. So we looked around the world in
search of Buggy Part Mecca and decided LA was the best place to start.
So with the strong Australian Dollar we are packing our bags and going to see just how much you can fit into a shipping container or two.
I know how much people like Buggy Porn so we will post up a bit of a buggy buying trip report to keep you posted on our progress.
Well 2 days in we have been going flat out. After getting off the plane after 16 hours, we headed to breakfast with the president of the Manxclub
(US). From there we drove to Pacific Customs where we spent about 5 hours before we drove out with a Pickup full of stock for the buggies. We
couldn't fit it all in the truck, so we will be heading back there later this week.
Finally made it down to Bruce and Winnies place to check out the new manxter bodies and another load of parts that had been delivered there the week
before from Down South Motor Sports, Weddle, CIP1, Small Car Performance and Dyno Shields. The new bodies are awesome and the quality is second to
none.
The Manxter Moulds will be picked up tomorrow once the shipping container arrives and then the tricky task of packing it in begins.
More photos soon.
