Removing Inlet manifold

When removing the inlet manifold from a 1300cc type 1 motor, do you have to remove the generator housing (12Volt), to remove the manifold.
Or can I just remove the generator and slide it between the generator housing and fan hounsing (upwards) and get it out?
I am at a point where I have to get a 36mm socket to remove the nut from the fan to remove the manifold, is why I am asking.

Yes
You need to remove the generator to get the inlet manifold off..

The inlet manifold is in one piece....

they do sell 3 piece single port inlet manifolds in the USA...

they would make it much easier to fit the manifolds...

You need to stretch them a bit to get them into place again... new round copper gaskets needed too..

cheers

Just undo the fanhousing nuts, remove the fanbelt, undo the generator clamp and lift the whole lot out of the way, fanhousing and generator combined. Much Much easier.
