I hope someone bought a lottery ticket that day.
I doubt she'll ever tailgate anyone again.

We had a similar thing happen years ago when a brake shoe from a semi trailer's trailer came off bounced off the road and through the front of my
dads nissan van about 2 inches below the windscreen in line with the steering column.
Went through the steel like a rock slingshoted through paper was lucky there was enough crap under the dash to stop it.
Amazeingly the driver of the semi noticed it (dont know how) and stopped

that goes against the laws of physics. video is a fake.
and the speedo reads zero when it looks down, clearly still doing considerable speed at that point.
pretty well done though

Are you serious? you have never heard of debris on the road flying up through peoples windscreens, happens all the time
The youtube commenting bandwagon reckoned it was fake purely cos the driver didn't react.
My ex mother in law nearly got taken out by an old bonnet flying out of the sims metal truck in front and bouncing off the road coming back from
Newcastle.

Best of luck to her, a video this viral is already on all the video hosts.
It's even been GIF-ified already.

yes several times! this sort of crap has flicked up or fallen off cars and hit mine or just missed.
And they certainly don't behave like this, actually the objects always get launched forward.
So my list of crap that I have been hit by from a year ago to now.
branch fell off a trailer hit the car.
coffee table frame, Yes!! a coffee table frame.
several rocks and small slabs of bitumen, around half card size.
Magpie lol
Rabbit (thats was on purpose)
20L empty plastic paint bucket will some water in it.
Cocky, this did by far the worst damage.
football (yesterday)
and I had a dumb ass hit the back of my bumper while she changed to the next lane beside me after tailgating. yes that bitch was that close.
So yeah I have a pretty dam good idea what crap flying off cars looks like and I love physics, studied it most my life for the joy of it.
So don't bother telling me that is real if you don't understand how basic physics works.
its like that BS mega huge slippery dip video. Everyone I knew swore that was real. For me it was screaming fake as soon as the guy got only 1/4 of
the way down.
remember media geeks can make stuff better than movie producers these days in just a weekend.

Hi
It was on the news tonight, fark the countries falling apart and this is on the news, I guess no footy or cricket players were doing anything stupid
for a change. Apparently she was filming the bad driving by the truck driver.
I'm not having a go at Joel for posting it, this the correct place to view on and comment on these things.

Hey vlad, can you explain how this defies the laws of physics?
Not having a go at you, genuinely interested.
To me it looked like the wood got flicked up from the tyres like ive seen happen first hand on a number of occasions. I know annecdotal evidence
doesn't mean a whole lot hence my question about how it defies science.

I didn't notice the sign post
otherwise that would not have happen. See the plank went accelerating backwards, which does not happen when a vehicle hits it moving forward.
But in super slow mo, you can see it launch forward (as expected) but it hits the sign post with majority of it length on the opposite side of the
effort in reference to the fulcrum (sign post)
For a split sec the plank catches in front of the wheel and continues to drive it forward and flicks the majority of the length and weight in the
opposite direction (backwards).
best way to demonstrate this is a ruler on the table, with say 10cm off the table edge then hit that hanging 10cm.
hand = vehicle
table = sign post
your face = car windscreen
if there was no sign post, that would not have happen. Its total 1 in 10 million freak chance that plank was in front of a pole.
And what was even more freaky what the fact it was videoed

The first time I saw it I thought hmmmm all seems alittle to convenient, and what person doesnt say a word when something like that happens.
But watching again, you just cant fake that sorta shit without 1000s of dollars of CGI.

Ah well, brings a new motorsport variant to the old art of fencing...
or perhaps its jousting?
Like Joel said, she was tailgating, minimum distances are there for reasons like this (ie: unexpected incidents)
Mind you, it would make an awesome bar story.
