Hi, I'm new..
Hi.
I’m new in town(VW Town), not Adelaide, I’ve been here to long..
My grandmaster plan was to emerge on the forums here with a restored complete 73 Square, named Gerty.
I bought Gerty from outback NSW a few months back. It’s the mustard (sunshine yellow?) colour original paint and is actually really straight but has
a tiny bit of surface rust in two spots. I’m guessing because it’s from central NSW and away from the rain and salt.
It’s in my garage with the interior pulled out. I’m beginning the sanding process on Monday after I drop the windows out as I have a few weeks off
work luckily.
The reason I popped up here before I finished the square was I’ve run into a few problems…
The paint is original and Dulon acrylic. how far to do i have to sand it down before i got the primer? I was thinking 600.
Also has anyone purchased ISP west vinyl door trims or bought any of their products?
Sorry if I’ve repeated old questions but I can’t find the answers in search.
See you on the road,
Scratch
ps; pics up when I get home from working away..

Some pics..

The interior is all out now minus the windows, door trim and the dash.
My door handle on the trim doesn't have a screw to take it off. The Bentley service manual has it with a screw. Am i missing something?
