CAN SOME ONE TELL ME WHAT THESE ARE
Hi all,
can someone please tell me what this grill thingy on the front apron is called. Are these prefabricated or would this be a "home job".?
I want one for my bug.

If you can handle a drill and an angle grinder you can remove it yourself.
Those are factory aprons on all American delivered Super beetles.
The grille is the intake for A/C condenser.
A/C was a very common option in the US so all supers were sold with them there.

The other question is, why do you want a vented front apron?
As I understand it, they were standard for Beetles with air conditioning, but are otherwise unnecessary. These days some of the Subaru conversion
people use them (or something similar) to get air to their radiators, or in some cases people put their oil coolers behind there, or of course, as
originally intended, for air con.
I would think that having a vented apron without any of those things would be a waste of money??
Just my 2c.
Look forward to seeing some photos of the car

[size=4]back in the 70s I bought a used SuperBug 1302 and the one next to it had that air con front apron on it...
first time I had seen one...
also good for mounting an oil cooler...
