Good luck, I hope your BMW sells as this is one sweet looking VW. Without seeing the car, this is a bargain and take this from someone that thought
doing up a VW was cheap. I thought I would have mine on the road for 8k and now I've spent over 20k and this is parts only, no labour.
DUB64, if I were you and as I have bought heaps of cars over the years, see if you can borrow some money so you don't miss out as you will kick
yourself later.
I have no links to this car and don't even know the people, I just know a sweet looking beetle and a great price.
Good luck, Kev.
I thought rebuilding a VW would be cheap - Shit I was wrong, just don't let the wife know !!!!

I agree Kev, I really dont know why Barry is selling it. He has put so much money and effort in getting this rocket up and going.
I have done a 72 super bug for my son and just finished it off for the DOTVW Golden Grove 27th May. We took out first place this year 68 on
modified.
Here is a link to some photos of that one. http://www.facebook.com/media/set/fbx/?set=a.135231639873473.27221.1000015991...
I have spent OVER 20k on it. I stopped counting after that. If some one offered me 18k or so I would consider it but I think it gets to a point where
you fall out of love with them as they take up so much time and money you just cant stand to drive them. I would far better now just buy the rocket I
love and drive it. Let someone else have the trials and tribulations with building it and simply buy and drive.

I'd pay $5000 for it, that's all I have. It's certainly a nice car! Personally I would advise the seller to keep it, you would have to spend a
fortune to build another one.

I reckon there would be 100 people that would pay 5K for this car!

just on the motor to get up to Standard. well 1641, Thats just parts. Nothing special. When was the last time you paid for a quality paint job???
$8500k is only really covering paint and the Motor. Barry spent $4500 in parts alone for this engine. I know because I ordered all the bit for him.
Hey mate, no offence meant! If anything it was a free bump. I agree that this would've cost many thousands more to build, but you will never ever get
your money back from building a car like this. The only cars which are profitable to restore are super-exotics like Bugattis. On anything else, you do
it for the love. That's why I reckon your mate should keep the car and enjoy it.

Dave, what are you doing up so early, must be incontinence you old bugger
Seriously, I was surprised that this hadn't sold. People, take it from someone that is doing a car up and spending heaps - this is a great buy.
Not being rude, but I am only saying this looking at the photos and it looks like you cant go wrong. Harden up and tell the wife you are buying it,
before someone else does.
I wish my daughter was 10 years older to drive, as it would be sitting at my place now.
Kev.

WOW!
I am so embarrassed, Haven't been on this site for soooo looonng!
Barry really just put it up hear if any vw guy or girl was interested. He is keen for it to go to a vw home. He is driving it to work each day and
really enjoying it. If some one looks keen and likes it, i am sure he would let it go.
If any one is interested in Uncle Baz's vw it will be at the DOVW civic park Tea Tree Gully in a few week,s
