Transaxle in L bug bonnet?
Quick question - will an IRS transaxle fit in the front of an L bug?
If it won't, I need to take my trailer with me.
A mate of mine was bidding on some wheels for his Porsche, and they were pick up only in Lithgow. I was going to pick them up for him if he won them -
he didn't.
The seller also had an IRS box going, I bid on it and won it, now it seems a shame to take the trailer (as small as it is) all the way from Parkes to
Port Macquarie and back if it will fit in the front.
I am hoping to leave Parkes by 3.30pm, so if you can get back quick enough, I can see which way to go.

Geez, for a minute there I thought that you were building a 'Quatro' Beetle!
I'd rather wear a Beetle out by racing it than by polishing it!

The thought crossed my mind after I wrote that.
Anyway, the answer is yes it does fit - quite easily (whew).

C'mon people use your imagination. Of COURSE you can fit things into the front of beetles to make them 4WD! (Just requires a bit of cut an shut).
